Your Life is Under the Control of a Part of You That Can See Your Future
By Curtis Aiken.
Our body’s Control Centre is in our head, there is no doubt about it. If our brain is removed, so is our life. This may be the Control Centre but the controller is not confined to our head. The part of us that is pulling the levers, pushing the buttons and making the decisions is observing the world and our life from a vantage point that provides this decision-maker with a broader perspective than is easy for us to comprehend.
When I was young, I loved playing with radio controlled cars. I was always controlling the car from a vantage point that gave me a full perspective of where the car had been, currently was, and where it was going. If the car could think like we do it would have thought that it was powering and driving itself, just like we do as people. After all, the motor was within the car and when it turned, the car was the one turning the wheels. Like us, the car would know on some level that there is this part of it that is connected but unseen that is ultimately in control. But from its perspective low to the ground, as trusting as it knows it should be, it still may fear crashing because of the speeds at which it is travelling without being able to clearly see the road ahead.
From my perspective as the controller of the vehicle, it was ridiculous to imagine that the car would think that it was in control. As the car’s controller I knew that I was determining its every move. I could see the road ahead of the vehicle so I knew which way was safe, which way was dangerous and which way may seem a little rocky and unstable to the car but I knew that it was the best route to take for the desired outcome.
Are we any different to the radio controlled car? The person holding the car’s controller is in charge of the car and has a broader perspective of the road ahead and so does the part of us, our spirit, that is guiding our life forward. The vantage point of our spirit which is truly in control is not a place from which it can see a wider physical landscape, our spirit is in a place where the past present and the future is seen. As the speed of our lives increases and we hurtle toward unfamiliar terrain, we cannot always see what is coming toward us from our vantage point in this physical time-space reality. We need to trust that a part of us can see through the unfamiliar terrain and is guiding us. When we stop trusting the part of us that can see the road ahead, we feel fear. Our spirit has never let us down in the past so to think that it may get something wrong tomorrow or next week is insane.
If we remember that the part of us that is truly in control can see the past, present, and future, and this part of us that is in control is pure Divine love, we have nothing to fear.

When have you let go and trusted everything would work out okay and it did despite the uncertainty felt at the time? Is anything preventing you from letting go and trusting the path you are on now will work out perfectly?
