Mouthwatering Mondays: Gloriously Green Smoothie
We have jumped on the ‘Green July’ bandwagon – woot woot! This great new initiative was created by the gorgeous Annette over at Wellness WA and is an exciting take on ‘Dry July’ (awesome idea right?!). The concept is simple but very effective and aims to help peeps across the world skyrocket their health and happiness. All you have to do is drink 1 green smoothie a day in addition to what you are already doing and you will no doubt feel the incredible benefits!
For me though… I feel like somewhat of a cheat as we chug down on green smoothies every single day. So in order to challenge ourselves and boost our health and happiness even more, we have taken it one tiny step further. This Green July, we will not only down our daily green smoothie, but we have also committed to the following daily rituals (which have slipped of late due to various commitments… namely, full time job – boo):
- 1/2 an hour of morning yoga practice
- 1 morning “affOrmation” (note: not affirmation)
- 1/2 an hour of evening exercise
- Journalling and/or meditation
- 1 super delicious and super huge green salad for lunch (nom nom nom)
So, in honour of our supercharged Green July, here’s another delectable Mouthwatering Mondays recipe to help you achieve abundant health & happiness:
What you need:
Makes 2 litres of green goodness…
2 stalks of celery (with leaves)
3 kale leaves, spines removed
1 bunch of coriander
1/4 ripe avocado
1 pear, cored & roughly chopped
1 green apple, cored & roughly chopped
1 lime (with a little bit of peel)
1 medium banana
3 cups of filtered water (+ an extra cup of water or coconut water if required)
4 heaped teaspoons Vital Greens powder
2 teaspoons spirulina powder
3 teaspoons defrosted E3Live Fresh-Frozen liquid w/BrainON
How to make:
- Chuck everything into a high speed blender
- Blend until smooth
- Serve in a glass jar with a Green July smile
